Death always means an ending of a stagnation period in your life or the end of some situation that has dragged on for a while. An important notice – it is a natural ending, not a forced one thus it is quite predictable. Still, it brings us pain and suffering. At the same time, when something ends it brings the beginning of something new.
A boat sailing on the river means a new beginning. Also, the rising sun tells us that it is not so bad, and we should hope for the better.
The horse in the picture is moving, it did not freeze on the spot. So the situation or question you ask about will have growth and development after experiencing transformation, usually through the pain.
To confirm that there is no physical death in this card – look at a mystic rose on the flag that symbolizes life.
That said the Death means transformation and global changes in life. These changes might happen all of a sudden but they would be natural and quite predictable. And it is not connected with physical death. A good example to illustrate this card is a woman who gave birth to a child – it is a global transformation in her life – she became a mom. Unexpectedly, yet predictable. Through pain. And a new life for her began after such a transformation.

Here I cover the meaning that is usually used for a one-card spread for singles with only one question.
Unfortunately, the Death card can’t give you a clear-cut answer to this question. I would recommend pulling out one more card and seeing whether it is positive or not. And here is why.
On the one hand, the Death as new love means that your current situation with love and loneliness will end and transform. And that might be a sign of a new relationship. At the same time, it will be a very natural change but painful. I may suggest that perhaps you already know who could be your partner. And to be with him in a relationship you have to overcome some unpleasant feelings (maybe his appearance is not so attractive as you would like to, or you don’t get on well with his relatives or something other that you can’t influence).
As a result of the written above, most likely you’ll prefer to stay alone rather than to be with a partner who is near you.
In brief in most cases, if the card you pulled out additionally is not positive, the Death means ‘no’.

I know it is painful for you. Don’t be upset – remember the Death means solving all the old issues and that will create room for new beginnings.

A difficult question to answer with the Death card. I would recommend pulling out one more card for clarification. Because two variants are possible. The prediction depends upon whether the card you pulled is positive or negative.
Positive variant. Then Death as reconciliation means that suddenly he might decide to start everything from scratch. Because your old situation found its resolution. So he might think of coming back. Of course, that will bring stress for both of you. And the success of this story will depend only on if you both are ready for such a global transformation in your relationships. So huge work and efforts are required here.
A negative variant, unfortunately, is more common. In this case, the Death as reconciliation means that his desire to come back faded naturally with time. He couldn’t influence this situation. This card predicts that you may break up, which will bring you pain. And you can’t influence that. But after that, you’ll understand that you got the freedom you needed so much. And with freedom new beginnings will happen.
Another aspect of this card is that you’ll have to face some global changes in your relationship. And if you both face the challenge and will not be against this transformation, your relationship will get to a new level. Otherwise, there is a risk of breaking up.
